Throughout the warmer months of the
year every Saturday afternoon the Divine Mother Kali
comes down the hill from the Maha Shakti Temple to the
Subramanium Temple and is then brought in procession to
the Yaga Sala for the weekly Mahabishekham (except for
the Full Moon poojas).
As with everything else in Skanda Vale, this is
according to the Divine Mother’s direct instructions to
Guruji, so that a far greater number of pilgrims can
have Darshan than in the small Maha Shakti Temple at the
top of the hill. |
Awaiting Devi's arrival |
|
 |
Lord Ganesh is first brought from the
Subramanium Temple to open the procession. |
| Then comes the Divine Mother Kali
greeted by the sacred aarthi, bells and conch to ride on
Her palanquin. |
 |
|
 |
The first bhajan is sung to Lord Ganesh,
for He is the Remover of Obstacles. |
| Then we sing to the Divine Mother and
focus all of our attention on Her presence so close
amongst us. It is a very precious moment for all of us.
|
 |
 |
All living things around are blessed by
Mother’s Darshan and revitalised by Her Grace and Shakti. |
|
We proceed the short way to the Yaga
Sala, where the atmosphere is charged with the heartfelt
devotion of the bhajans which have been sung by the
pilgrims non-stop since the early afternoon. |
 |
|
 |
It is a magical moment when the Divine Mother arrives
and is met by the profound love and reverence of Her
devotees.
Her Shakti is all-pervading as She gives Darshan to all
assembled.
